How I mix Music _Part #15_Keyboards.
It's all been talk up until now.
- "Work the holes"
- "You only have so much air space to craft in"
These three examples out of my past demonstrate how well I did or did not deal with it. The first is Jerry Corbetta (Sugarloaf). His blending of simple keyboard and guitar parts makes one big powerful statement in his record.

We brought in everything for Candi's record. A lot of stuff got really small with the entire string section joining in. Al's rhythm guitar part is all but lost but for a couple of spots, this is a full production ...full of super talented players performing a big show leaving little to no holes. A tough mix.

This is Dick Monda and the Harris Sisters. Dick is a Master of Groove. He sees the air and works a groove within and around it. This track has so many different keyboard colors all coming together to build one nasty ass groove ...a groove with a personality ...it is a show.
Dick Monda taught me to ..."be the show".
Next up: Keyboards ...When to say "When"
